Welcome to Pennine

We are friendly, family-oriented club with excellent facilities and a very active sailing membership.

Winscar reservoir

We have a sailing programme extending from March to November, complemented by a year-round social programme with several closed-season events.   During 2007 we became an RYA Recognised Teaching Establishment and have a number of qualified instructors and coaches with a commitment to training both adults and young members.

Other strengths of the club include being home to both Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam University sailing clubs, and the Huddersfield Sea Cadet Corps; strong links with the Yorkshire & Humberside Youth circuit; and many members active in various Class Open and National Championship competitions.

Winscar is one of the larger sailing waters in the area and Pennine is in demand as an Open meeting venue. We have strong fleets of Scorpions, Streakers, and Lasers, among a wide range of classes represented in the club.
