This was our last season at Queen’s Road. We moved to Firth Park where we were well received by the then manager Roger Marshall. Again a successful season, and Mif Smith and Col Sumner were selected to represent the UAU.

We started playing non-student teams to improve our games this year. We played the RAF Scampton four times and beat them twice. On one occasion, Brendan (‘Bobby’) Boulton and Adrian Blacker went to look at the planes, got arrested and Bobby made the mistake of saying he was Irish.

We were again Zone Winners and National Champions. We won the Birmingham Marathon, the UAU Championships and the ladies were runners-up in the WIVAB Championships.
